Synposis: When the first chair flutist at her high school transfers unexpectedly, sophomore Addison sees her chance to step into a role she has quietly worked toward since sixth grade. But getting the job turns out to be the easy part. Under the direction of a brand new young band director with big ideas and something to prove, Addison finds herself on the school's leadership team before she fully understands what leadership means - navigating the complicated dynamics of a section that didn't choose her, the weight of expectations she isn't sure she can carry, and the quiet but persistent question of whether she is ready for any of it. With her best friend Emily in her corner and a team of fellow leaders she is only beginning to know, Addison discovers that the first chair was never really about the music, it was about the people sitting next to you and whether you can make them believe in something together.
